Rating:   ★★★ NeonDS is an emulator of Nintendo’s latest handheld console, the Nintendo DS and DSi XL. It does not require a high end PC for functioning well. Pentium 4 processor, 512 GB to 1 GB RAM and 128 MB video support are enough to run the program at normal playable speeds. It works on Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 OS. The makers have recently released the latest version, V 0.2.1; and so far, Nintendo DS on PC fans are pleased with the remarkable graphics and improving sounds. Browsing through the long list is made easy, by the color coded scheme of classification. Green colored titles, which have the label “Perfect,” will work with complete features and without errors. Rating:   ★★★ iDeaS is one of the promising DS emulators available on the Internet. This Nintendo DS emulator uses the keyboard for DS buttons and the mouse cursor for the touchscreen. Manages to run one of the Metroid Movie and starting to run some commecial NDS roms. It comes with a built-in debugger, which is mainly for programmers and developers. iDeaS is plug-in based, meaning further developments and support can be done without changing the emulator's source code. On the other hand, iDeaS is one of if not the only one that emulates the WiFi connection of the Nintendo DS; but it is buggy and it only enables the player to unlock WiFi-only features of some DS games.

Rating:   ★★★★ NO$GBA started out as an emulator for classic GameBoy and GameBoy Advance games. It can run on a lot of operation systems such as XP, Windows 7, Vista, and even with MS DOS. The NO$GBA is considered the fastest working DS rom emulator; it can run most Nintendo DS games at full speed on most computer processors. Its creator, Martin Koth, released the first version of DS-capable NO$GBA in May 2005. The only negative comment is the garbled sound which is due to synching problems and/or still unsolved audio errors Also,there is auto save game, the user will have to do it by himself. But on the positive side, you will find this emulator really easy to use and configure. Plus, you can also get a strong and solid technical support from the NO$GBA community. You can surely save a lot of money not buying the real NDS, if you have the NO$GBA.

Rating:   ★★★★★ DeSmuME is a freeware emulator created by YopYop156 and is originally in French. It is known as YopYop DS is written in C++ for Microsoft Windows and can play Nintendo DS homebrew and commercial nds roms. It also supports save states and filters to improve image quality. It also has the ability to increase screen size. It emulates, almost perfectly, all known 2D graphics; has some small issues such as the color bit depths.
